Competition Rules
South East Asian Boulder League 2024

Qualifications: Session Format
  • Competitors are given a specified time to complete 5 boulder problems.

  • No demo climbs; climbers can attempt problems in any order.

  • Subsequent details are isolated to prevent observation of climbs from previous details.

  • The top 20 climbers of each gender proceed to the Semifinals.

Semifinals - Rotation Format
  • Competitors attempt 5 problems in sequence.

  • When one climber moves to the next problem, the next climber will attempt the first problem, and so on.

  • Each climber has 4 minutes to attempt a problem and 4 minutes of rest.

  • No observation or demo climbs; all 20 competitors are isolated before starting.

  • The top 6 climbers of each gender advance to the Finals.

Finals - IFSC Concurrent Format
  • Competitors attempt 4 problems.

  • All 6 climbers attempt problem 1 first, one climber at a time.

  • After all 6 climbers have attempted problem 1, they move to problem 2, and so on.

  • Climbers have 4 minutes to attempt each problem.

  • Before the competition begins, all finalists participate in a 2-minute observation of each problem.

  • After observation, climbers return to the isolation zone before competing.

  • The top 3 climbers of each gender will be awarded prizes.

Overall Championship - CURS Format
  • After each league round, athletes' points from their best performances are totalled to calculate their cumulative points.

  • The specific point allocations for each placement are determined below.

  • The cumulative points are updated after each round to reflect athletes' performances throughout the league.

  • At the end of the three rounds of the SEA Boulder League, the male and female climbers with the highest cumulative points are declared SEA Boulder League Overall Champions for the year, recognising their consistent performance and excellence throughout the league.

  • The SEA Boulder League Overall Champions are recognised and awarded at the league's final round.

    You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.
  • Can I insert an image, video, or GIF in my FAQ?
    Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 4. Add media from your library and save.
